Grade 11 Open Preparation Holocaust Studies (IDC3O) – Summer School
This course examines the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the Holocaust including: Jewish life and the development of antisemitism in Europe in the years preceding the Holocaust, the systemic Nazi initiatives that targeted the Jewish people for murder, the inhumane treatment of the Jewish people and others by the Nazis and their collaborators, and the enduring trauma experienced by the survivors and their descendants. Students will develop and apply research skills in order to examine and create a project on the life of a Holocaust victim or survivor to keep their memory alive for a new generation.
